The current coaching staff took over the team in June 2007.
In that time we've come along way, considering no equipment (not even a training ball was handed over to us).
In June we had less than £100.
In that time, we have managed to buy two sets of strips, training gear, training balls, bibs and markers. In total, this has cost in the region of £800. This money was raised thanks to donations from The Bank of New York and HBOS, who donated £830 between the two companies.
Our next aim is to obtain tracksuits and water proof jackets for the boys and we hope the money raised at the race night will assist.
Whlst results are not going in our favour, we have achieved a lot in a short period of time and hopefully the good work on training nights will transpire into improved results.
Would moving kids' football to a summer game help improve the development of young footballers?
Yes - better pitches mean a better chance to develop technique/skills
No - wouldn't make any real difference to development
Maybe - but I'd be worried about more injuries on firm pitches
